The right-back left the Bhoys for Oakwell on loan last month.
Celtic right-back Saidy Janko has explained via the Sheffield Star his decision to leave the club last month, but added that he is keen to return to Parkhead when his Barnsley loan spell ends.
Janko, who has two years left on his contract in Glasgow, appeared in six of the Bhoys opening nine fixtures this season.
However, having failed to impress new boss Brendan Rodgers, the former Manchester United man was bombed out to Barnsley until the end of the campaign.
Shortly beforehand, Rodgers had bolstered his defensive ranks with the signing of Cristian Gamboa from West Bromwich Albion and Janko admitted the Costa Rican’s arrival was a factor in his departure.
“The project here is one of the reasons I joined. The gaffer (Paul Heckingbottom) likes using young players and improving them,” the 20-year-old told the Sheffield Star.
“I heard loads of good things about the manager and the club and after Celtic bought in another right-back I decided to come here.
“It’s like a family here. In the dressing room, the backroom staff, everybody sticks together.”
Despite this, though, a permanent move to Oakwell does not appear to be on Janko’s horizon at this moment in time.
“I’m only young and the most important thing at this age to go out and prove yourself. I want to go back at the end of the season and be a better player.
“I think it’s a bit more competitive down here.”
Janko has played just 30 minutes for Barnsley so far, but has already scored one goal and assisted another.
The Tykes are one of the division’s surprise packages so far and sit fourth in the table with eight games played.
