Justin Rose is in the middle of a standout run, with the 45-year-old recently claiming a dominant win at the Farmers Insurance Open.

He put together a solid showing at Torrey Pines, leading from early on and not giving anyone else much of a look in.

It is his second PGA Tour title in under a year, after beating J.J. Spaun in a playoff to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship back in August.

In addition to that win, Rose reached a playoff at The Masters last year and played an important role for Europe at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage, adding even more highlights to what has been an impressive late chapter of his career.

Sahith Theegala impressed by Justin Rose’s form after Farmers Insurance Open win

He may not be as consistent as he would like, but Rose has a knack for making the most of the weeks when he is in form.

And you have to go back to 2022 to find the last time he missed out on a major top 10.

Sahith Theegala commented on the Englishman’s showing at Torrey Pines, indicating it would be unsurprising if he were to secure a second major title in the near future.

He said: “Yeah, what he’s doing at 45 is unbelievable. It kind of is I don’t want to say Djokovic like, Djokovic is the goat, but just to be able to gain the ball speed he has to be able to keep the competitive fire that he has, the discipline while also being a great family man.

“I got to know him a lot better through TGL and being on my LAGC team. He kind of does it all. He’s very, very impressive.

“And somehow I feel like he’s flown under the radar for 20-plus years. No. 1 in the world, major champ, gold medalist, whatever. You name it, you feel like he’s done it. So to be playing potentially some of the best golf of his life now.

“I know he wants to win majors really bad. Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if he snags one this year at all especially after last year. It’s been known for a while that he had his little recovery stations and, you know, does the cold plunges, the saunas, the stretching, the gym work. Whatever it might be, he does pretty much anything necessary.

“I didn’t really have that attitude. I’m going to get more to that. I don’t know if anyone can take it as extreme as some of these guys do. I’m sure some of these top guys behind the scenes are doing very similar recovery stuff. It’s pretty brutal. Golf’s sneaky tough on the body. So yeah, he does a lot of things the right way. He’s all class.”

There will be a lot of attention on Justin Rose when the next Masters comes around. He was the one Rory McIlroy beat to finally claim the Green Jacket last year.

Rose seems to have his own unfinished business at Augusta National. He and Ben Hogan are the only players in Masters history to have lost two playoffs.

In his last five majors, he has finished second twice. So, there is plenty of reason to believe he could add another major title before he is finished.

Sunday’s win suggests that this part of his career may still have more highlights ahead.
