Liverpool star Sadio Mane has told the club’s official website of how manager Jurgen Klopp tells his forward players to be free and hurt the opposition.

The Reds have made a flying start to this season and currently sit fourth in the table after seven games of the campaign.

They are the joint highest goalscorers in the division alongside Manchester City having put 18 goals past their opponents so far.

It is something that has not gone unnoticed, with some believing that their attacking prowess could make them title contenders this season.

Klopp certainly seems to have found a secret ingredient but Mane says the message he gives his forward players is a simple one.

“It’s a system where everybody knows their job. Roberto, Coutinho, Studge, Adam… we know each other’s game,” he told the club’s official website.

“It’s become easier for us thanks to working on it and we are enjoying playing this way. Whether I’m starting up front or out wide isn’t really the most important thing.

“The manager says to be free and then get into dangerous areas where you can hurt the opposition.”

Liverpool will now be hoping that their forward players can continue to shine, especially with their defence continuing to look weak.

While the attack has scored 18 times, the back line has let in 10 goals in their seven games so far, the worst record of any team in the top ten.

It leaves Liverpool heavily reliant on their forwards to be regular goal-scorers to win them games.

So far it has not been a problem and Klopp will be praying the Reds stay in good form throughout the campaign to ensure it does not become one.
