The forward has been a huge hit at Liverpool since arriving from Southampton.

Eleven games into the Premier League season and Liverpool will be delighted with the work they have done so far.

They sit top of the Premier League table, two points clear of Chelsea in second, and are the league’s highest goal-scorers to boot.

Their work in the summer transfer window has proved to be very successful, with several of their signings proving to be big hits.

Sadio Mane is one of them, with the forward having quickly formed a formidable relationship with Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino in the Reds’ front-line.

Mane’s improvement has been notable, to say the least, but how do his stats compare to the same time last year? We have taken a look.

This season Mane is playing more accurate passes per game, 31.3 compared to 23.5, more successful final third passes per game, 16 compared to 10.8 and more key passes per game, 1.6 compared to 1.2.

Interestingly, though, he has managed fewer assists with just two to his name compared to four last season.

He is registering the same number of shots on target per game but he has doubled his goal tally from three to six.

Dribbling wise the Liverpool man has improved, going up from 2.4 won contests per game to 2.9 won contests per game but his accurate crosses per game have fallen.

Nonetheless, improvement in five areas for Mane this season and Liverpool will be hoping there is more to come as they eye a title challenge this year.
