Sadio Mane snubbed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after Thursday night’s win at Old Trafford.
Liverpool pulled off a huge 4-2 win away to Manchester United and had to come from behind to do so, after Bruno Fernandes fired the hosts ahead.
It was a massive victory for the Reds and one that kept alive their hopes of Champions League qualification.
But Mane was visibly upset after the game.
The Liverpool attacker snubbed an approach from Klopp when the German manager offered a post-match fist bump.
Mane had been dropped to the bench for the game but came on with 16 minutes remaining.
It was a bit of a talking point after the game but the Senegal international himself has refused to address it on social media.
Instead, Mane took to Instagram to post a couple of pictures alongside the caption: “Big 3 points.”
Klopp won’t be too offended by his player’s snub.
Although Mane’s behaviour could be described as a tad petulant, it’s a bigger sign that he’s hungry to play the biggest games – and they don’t come much bigger for Liverpool than a trip to Old Trafford.
The Liverpool boss will, in a way, be pleased that his player is this upset to start on the bench and hopefully for him it spurs on Mane over the next three matches, which will shape their season.
Klopp’s side are four points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and six behind Leicester, both of whom have two matches to go – one against each other – but the Merseysiders have three games left.
