Jacob Murphy’s £12 million move from Norwich City made the England Under-21 winger Newcastle United’s most expensive summer signing.
Three months on, however, Murphy has made arguably the least impact of any of Rafa Benitez’s eight post-promotion recruits.
Of course, it is still early days, and one would like to think that a player of his age (22) will be treated with patience as he adapts to life in England’s Premier League – at a club based 250 miles away from the family, and notably his twin brother Josh, he left behind.

But after Murphy’s 11-minute, televised cameo against Burnley on Monday night, some Norwich fans have taken to Twitter to question their former player’s decision to leave them for Newcastle – the club he was raised in north London to support.
Here’s what they’ve been saying:
Murphy’s Newcastle missed a chance to go sixth at Burnley, who instead climbed above them to seventh after Jeff Hendrick’s strike settled a tight affair in the 74th minute.
Will the former Norwich City academy product come good at Newcastle United?
