Another week and another season-defining game for Arsenal.
From the mess that has been created on the field, to the protests off it, Arsenal football club is really is heading towards rock-bottom.
And a defeat against Villarreal tonight won’t help matters, with the Arsenal fans already venting their frustration towards the owner, Stan Kroenke, off the pitch.
Ahead of that crucial Europa League first-leg clash, Arteta has had his say on the club’s owners, and it’s not gone down well with the Arsenal fans.
Arteta stated that Arsenal have owners, in the Kroenke’s, who are ‘really, really committed’ to the cause, as he told his pre-match press conference.
Well, Mikel, if that was the case then Arsenal fans wouldn’t be protesting in their thousands and with such anger, would they?
Plus, all that needs to be looked at is the Premier League table, and that in itself tells the story.
But in truth, what is Arteta expected to say? If Arsenal get knocked out of the Europa League then he may well lose his job before the seasons out.
So, given that he is on such a tight rope, he’s not going to be shouting his head off about the owners, even though the Arsenal faithful would like him to be a bit more honest about them.
