Former Wigan Athletic and Hull City defender Ryan Taylor has taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Adam Armstrong on signing a new contract with Newcastle United.
As announced on Newcastle’s official website on Thursday, Armstrong has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract at the club. The new deal means that the striker will remain at St. James’ Park until 2020.
Former Newcastle midfielder Taylor, who was on the books of the Magpies from 2009 until 2015, has congratulated Armstrong on committing his long-term future to the Championship club.

Armstrong is a very talented and promising young striker, and it makes sense for Newcastle to have him sign a new deal.
The 19-year-old scored 20 goals while on loan at Coventry City last season, and perhaps it is time for him to get a chance for the Magpies’ first team.
It will not be easy for the teenager to feature for Newcastle this season, but manager Rafael Benitez should look at giving him some valuable minutes from time to time.
Newcastle are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
