Liverpool fan Ryan Taylor has applauded Everton interim manager David Unsworth on Twitter after the Toffees came from behind to beat Watford 3-2 at Goodison Park.

The Merseyside outfit went 2-0 down after both sides went into half-time at 0-0, thanks to goals from Richarlison and Christian Kabasele. However, Oumar Niasse, Dom Calvert-Lewin and Leighton Baines secured a superb comeback.

Everton did ride their luck at times, with former Everton midfielder Tom Cleverley missing a late penalty deep into injury time after left-back Baines had converted a penalty of his own.

Taylor, who is known for his proneness to injury after spells with Wigan Athletic and Newcastle United, claimed on his personal Twitter account that he was “delighted for Unsy” and that the 44-year-old was in his “dream position”.

The win gives Unsworth his first victory in charge after three straight losses to Chelsea, Leicester City and Lyon, as well as pushing the Toffees out of the Premier League relegation zone and into a healthier 16th place.

It remains to be seen who Everton will choose to fill the void left by Ronald Koeman, but Unsworth will have done his favours no harm following the win. However, Sean Dyche and Sam Allardyce remain the favourites to take over.
