Ryan Reynolds has teased the prospect of a new signing joining Wrexham as he aims a Twitter message in the direction of Gareth Bale.

Rob McElhenney has already hinted that he will attempt to convince the five-time UEFA Champions League winner to join Wrexham during a round of golf.

Now, Reynolds has added fuel to the fire.

Bale to Wrexham

Well, this would be a sensational signing for Wrexham, and arguably one of the most surprising deals in football history.

The Welshman retired from professional football back in January after appearing at the World Cup with Wales for the first time in his career.

Now – however – Reynolds has teased the possibility of Bale joining Wrexham after promotion to League Two was secured.

The American posted a photoshopped image of the 33-year-old celebrating a goal at the Racecourse Ground wearing a Wrexham shirt, with the caption “what if” attached.

You can see what Reynolds tweeted in full below.

This rumour does not seem to be going away, and if Wrexham somehow manage to lure Bale out of retirement, it would be a remarkable sequence of events.

Bale should join Wrexham

In our view, Bale should join Wrexham – even if it is just for six months.

The Real Madrid legend has only recently retired, and while he struggled with injuries during the latter stages of his career, he would still be the best player in League Two by far even at 50% fitness – with all due respect.

Furthermore – from a marketing aspect – Bale’s arrival at the Racecourse Ground would bring even more attention to Wrexham, which would boost revenue and help the Welsh side on their rise up the English Football League.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation over the summer, as talk of Bale moving to Wrexham simply won’t go away.
