Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have enjoyed much success as co-owners of soccer team Wrexham AFC.
The North American celebrities have taken the Welsh team from the fifth tier of English football all the way up to the Championship (second tier).
They are now gearing up for the 2026/27 season, which kicks off in August, and Wrexham are once again back in the United States of America for their pre-season tour.

Ryan Reynolds excited to see Wrexham play at Yankee Stadium
The Red Dragons have been to America several times since Ryan and Rob became owners, allowing them to face off against some big soccer teams in friendly matches.
Their 2026 tour kicks off against Leeds United on July 25, before they face former Premier League champions Liverpool at Yankee Stadium on July 29.
Now, Reynolds has been asked about his excitement at watching Wrexham play at the iconic stadium.
He responded: “It’s not even, it’s so far beyond pinch me. It’s like a punch me moment. I don’t know what to say about this. I mean, the fact that Wrexham is coming to America, on their third trip, last of which being in in 2024, but we’re not only coming to America to play again, in what has always been the most exhilarating and exciting thing to see live, but to do it with three Premier League teams in a row, in Tampa, New York, and Philly, is pretty amazing. You know? To have to play to host Liverpool FC in Yankee Stadium with, that that kind of history and pedigree,
“I just don’t know what to make of it. I mean, we cannot wait to fill that stadium and, and watch the watch the boys out there just do what they do best. I mean, it’s always so electric. And, you know, the 165-year-plus history of Wrexham has seen its fair share of giant killings.
“And, you know, Liverpool is as big as it gets, certainly, on the world stage. So we’re very excited to see what we can do.”
After facing Liverpool, Wrexham’s American pre-season tour comes to a close on August 2 against Sunderland.
They will then play Middlesbrough in a First Round Carabao Cup game to kick off their competitive season on August 7.
