Ryan Mason questioned on Twitter how Tottenham loanee Oliver Skipp was ‘unharmed’ after he was on the end of a horror tackle in the Championship on Saturday.
Skipp is currently on-loan at Norwich City, who were playing Rotherham away from home, with opposition player Angus McDonald recklessly going in two-footed on the Spurs man.
Without hesitation, the on-field referee brandished a straight red to the Rotherham player before Skipp was able to get back up.
Former Spurs midfielder Mason reacted to the challenge on Twitter and suggested that Skipp was lucky not to get seriously injured.
Both players were chasing a 50-50 ball before McDonald was that bit aggressive in lunging in on the Tottenham academy product.
As soon as the challenge went in, Skipp laid on the floor clutching his leg as his teammates made their feelings clear towards McDonald before he was given his marching orders.
At the end of the game, Norwich walked away with all three points with Jordan Hugill netting a stoppage-time penalty.
But the relief from all was that Skipp walked away injury-free.
