Ryan Mason shares what it’s like playing under Marco Silva & claims Wolves striker would make Everton better

Both Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently sitting in the Premier League’s top 10.

Ryan Mason has shared that Marco Silva is a ‘very good manager’ and if he is ‘given time’ at Everton then he will do well at the club.

The former Hull City player, who worked under Silva at the KCOM Stadium, also claimed that Wolves star Raul Jimenez is the type of player the Toffees need amid their recent struggles.

The Merseyside club have lost four matches from their previous seven encounters in all competitions, including being knocked out by Championship side Millwall in the FA Cup [BBC Sport].

Nonetheless, former Spurs man, Mason offered his personal experience of the under-fire Silva and was adamant that Benfica loanee Jimenez would make Everton better.

“I did play under him and I like him,” Mason told the Final Word on talkSPORT on 03/02/2019. “I think he is a very good manager and he will do well there given time.

“I keep saying it, they don’t have a striker. When you look at the teams above them. Watford, they have goalscorers.

“Wolves, Jimenez. Stick him in Everton’s side and I’m sure they would have another six, seven points on the table through his goals.”

Prior to his premature retirement in 2018, Mason, who came through the ranks at White Hart Lane, played under Silva during his 20 appearances for Hull, according to transfermarkt.

Over the course of the season, Jimenez has played 25 league matches in his debut season in England, scoring nine goals and supplying his teammates with six assists, according to transfermarkt.

During the Midlands side last league encounter, he found the back of the net against Everton at Goodison Park as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side claimed all three points [BBC Sport].

Nonetheless, Everton are sitting ninth in the Premier League table, at this moment in time and they will now be preparing for a home clash against Manchester City on Wednesday night.

If Silva’s side beat the Manchester club then they will hand their near neighbours, Liverpool, with a helping hand in winning the Premier League title.
