Harry Kane reached another milestone in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt on Sunday.
The red-hot Tottenham marksman stepped up to send a last-gasp penalty past Loris Karius at Anfield as Spurs held Liverpool to a thrilling 2-2 draw.
In doing so, Kane, who had seen a previous penalty already saved by Karius minutes before, bagged his 100th Premier League goal and became the second-fastest player in Premier League history to reach the century – behind Alan Shearer, who scored 100 in 124 games, 17 less appearances than the England hitman.
Still only 24, it’s a phenomenal achievement by the Tottenham sensation and one of his former team-mates in North London, Ryan Mason, was quick to congratulate the man himself on Twitter.
How Tottenham fans will be hoping that his next century of Premier League goals come in the same shirt, but it remains to be seen.
Inevitably, the Lilywhites supporters will have to endure another transfer saga this summer, after Kyle Walker joined Manchester City last time around, and on this occasion it might be regarding Kane.
If Mauricio Pochettino’s side fail to win a trophy then you wonder if Kane might be tempted if, say, a Real Madrid or Manchester United come in with a record-breaking bid.
His affection for the North London club can’t be questioned, but what will be questioned is his desire to leave and Tottenham’s best chance of keeping him for another year might lie in giving him something to celebrate come May.
