Ryan Mason has posted on Instagram ‘another big week ahead’ for Tottenham Hotspur.
On Sunday, Spurs thrashed Newcastle United 5-1 to move fourth in the Premier League table – they kept that Champions League spot when Arsenal failed to capitalise 24 hours later at Crystal Palace.
Nonetheless, this is what Mason posted from training, as Antonio Conte’s side look to pull away from the chasing pack.
It’s a trip to Villa Park for Spurs and facing an Aston Villa side that is bang out-of-form.
For the first time in months, Conte and his players will feel they have the Premier League’s top-four in their hands – that’s if they win their remaining matches.
That pessimistic Tottenham fan right at the back will be saying ‘this is where we mess everything up’.
Their win over Newcastle was one of their best under Conte, they have taken charge of fourth spot and now face one of the out-form-teams in the Premier League.
This is where the north London club need to show to their neighbours that they won’t slip up and they will punish them for not taking advantage following Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.
The key thing here is that Arsenal will play at 3pm against Brighton, one point, but preferably three, will move them ahead of Spurs, who will then kick off hours later.
It will be interesting if the Gunners can put that scoreboard pressure on their rivals and how they react to it all.
