Ryan Mason makes confident prediction about Harry Kane’s Tottenham future

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to keep hold of Harry Kane this summer.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ryan Mason has told talkSPORT that he thinks Harry Kane will choose to stay with Spurs rather than head to Spain.

Kane, 24, has come up through the ranks with Tottenham, and after failing to really impress with Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City, few really expected him to become the star man for Spurs.

However, Kane has developed into a superstar under Mauricio Pochettino, and now has 134 goals in 204 games for Tottenham, and has scored more than 20 Premier League goals for the fourth season in a row.

Whilst there are concerns over the ankle injury Kane sustained at Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon, he is still expected to lead the line for England at the World Cup this summer – and Spurs will be hoping for good news throughout the summer with their key man.

As arguably the best striker in the world, Kane is bound to be attracting interest from the world’s biggest clubs, with Real Madrid regularly linked with his signature.

Kane has yet to win a trophy as a Spurs player, and many believe that he needs to move on if he wants to win silverware rather than stay with Tottenham and hope for success in the future.

Now though, Kane’s former Spurs teammate Ryan Mason has told talkSPORT that he is predicting that Kane will stay with Spurs, as he wants to be record-breaker in the Premier League.

Kane is still 118 goals behind Alan Shearer’s Premier League record and 41 behind Wayne Rooney’s England record, but Mason is backing him to break both records – and thinks he will do it, whilst winning trophies, with Tottenham rather than head to Spain.

“What I believe is that Harry wants to go down in the record books as a record-breaker and going out to La Liga that’s not going to happen,” said Mason. “Staying in the Premier League with Tottenham, that will happen. He’ll break Shearer’s record, he’ll break Rooney’s record for England – I’m so confident.”

“You look at Harry, four years ago you couldn’t have imagined that he was a Premier League player. But the gaffer and the football club have turned him into a world-class striker, one of the best in the world so Harry is what, 24? He doesn’t need to win a trophy right now. Harry I believe will stay at Spurs, he will stay there scoring goals, and I believe he will win trophies with Spurs,” he added.
