Liverpool recorded a goalless draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Sky Sports pundit Ryan Mason has ripped into ‘poor’ and ‘slow’ Liverpool trio Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah after their goalless draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Mason also astonishingly claimed that the Reds haven’t been ‘too convincing’ over the course of this season despite sitting top of the Premier League table for large parts of the campaign.
Jurgen Klopp was without leader Virgil van Dijk against Bayern as he will be back for the return leg of their last-16 encounter in Germany.
Nonetheless, former Tottenham man Mason wasn’t too impressed with what he saw at Anfield as he seemingly played down what has been a strong season so far for the club.
“I will be perfectly honest with you, I don’t think Liverpool have been too convincing this season,” Mason told Sky Sports News on 19/02/2019.
“Last season, they probably played better. This season they have been able to win games at the back of not playing well.
“Tonight [against Bayern], they looked poor. Their front three looked slow. They were snatching at chances in the final third. The crowd felt nervy as well. It was a big disappointment that Liverpool didn’t get the win tonight to go into that game at the weekend fully confident.”

It remains to be seen how Liverpool supporters will view their draw against Bayern as they have a realistic chance of progressing through to the next round.
But, on the other hand, they will have more than one eye on reclaiming top spot in the Premier League as they are currently sitting in second place, level on points with Manchester City, who have played a game more.
At the weekend, they play arguably their biggest game of the season when they travel to Old Trafford to take on bitter rivals Manchester United in what could be a season-defining 90 minutes of football.
A win at Old Trafford will surely lift the spirits of those in the red half of Merseyside because it would move them ever closer to becoming English champions for the first time in nearly three decades.
