Glasgow Rangers loanee Ryan Kent has enjoyed an outstanding campaign at Ibrox, with his parent club now demanding an eye-watering fee.

When Rangers signed Ryan Kent on loan during the summer, it appeared to be a real gamble from Steven Gerrard.
Kent was once considered one of the most exciting talents within Liverpool’s academy. But a number of disappointing loan spells meant that his move to Ibrox seemed like his last throw of the dice as he looked to save his Anfield career.
And the winger has done a fantastic job of making the most of his time with the Gers. Kent often looks like Rangers’ most dangerous player and has had a direct hand in nine league goals, scoring five and contributing four assists.
It seems unlikely that he will have done enough to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plans. But there is no doubt that the spell with Rangers has the potential to do wonders for his career, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that the Reds now want more than £12 million for the youngster in the summer.

Asking for that kind of figure 12 months ago would have seemed unthinkable after his stints with Freiburg and Bristol City. And that should perhaps catch Everton’s eye when they make plans for Kieran Dowell this summer.
Dowell is arguably in a much better position right now than the one Kent found himself in last summer. He was outstanding for much of his spell at Nottingham Forest last year, and he is now threatening to help Sheffield United secure promotion out of the Championship.
He has perhaps not played as much for the Blades as he would have liked, and Marco Silva has given him no game-time in Premier League at Goodison Park this season. So perhaps another loan move could be in the offing.

The Scottish Sun reported in December that Rangers wanted to loan Dowell, with Gerrard a big fan of the attacking midfielder.
And with the Gers heading into the summer still needing to fill the void at number 10, it would be little surprise if Rangers went back in for the 21-year-old.
And given what has happened to Kent’s value during his time with the Light Blues, perhaps Everton should look at Ibrox as the perfect place for Dowell to continue his development and either prove a point to Silva or increase his value for a move elsewhere.
