Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers and Neil Lennon’s Celtic will face each other in the Scottish League Cup final this season.
Ryan Kent of Rangers
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers will take on bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic in the final of the Scottish League Cup final this season.
While the Hoops won their semi-final tie on Saturday, the Gers emerged victorious in their last-four tie on Sunday.
Kent, who joined Rangers from Premier League club Liverpool in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Times to be worth £7 million, is looking forward to the game.
BBC Sport quotes Kent as saying: “These are the games you relish as a professional. It will be a tough game, but we’ve got lots of confidence and hopefully we can come away with some silverware.”
Too close to call
Celtic have won the domestic treble for the past three seasons, and the Hoops will be determined to make it four in a row.
However, Rangers this season are looking much better than they were during the 2018-19 campaign, and Gerrard’s side will head into the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic fully confident.
Rangers could well win the final against Celtic.
