Jack has returned to Rangers from Scotland duty due to a knee injury.

Ryan Jack’s spell at Rangers since his move to Ibrox from Aberdeen has been blighted by injury, and the trend has continued after withdrawing from the Scotland squad due to a knee injury.
The 26-year-old was called-up to the squad to face Israel and Albania in the UEFA Nations League just three days ago, as one of four replacements for Stephen O’Donnell, Craig Gordon, Kevin McDonald and Charlie Mulgrew.
But the two-time Scotland international and has also had to withdraw due to a knee problem, which comes as a bitter blow to Rangers manager Steven Gerrard. But not for one Rangers player.
Indeed, Andy Halliday reignited his Rangers spell since the arrival of Gerrard, with the left-footed midfielder coming back into the side to shine in both the Europa League and in the Scottish Premiership.
Halliday, 26, was staring at a Rangers exit after a failed loan move to FK Gabala in Azerbaijan. Reports suggested he was surplus to requirements upon Gerrard’s arrival, with Jason Holt being afforded the same treatment.
Holt left to join ex-Rangers midfielder Joey Barton at Fleetwood Town on loan, but Halliday stayed and his since flourished under Gerrard, with his versatility of playing central midfield, holding midfield and at left-back proving crucial.

Halliday, 27, is arguably in the form of his Rangers career, starting and finishing the last four Scottish Premiership matches. He even captained the side in the 4-0 League Cup win over Ayr, providing two assists.
Now, if Jack’s knee injury is serious, that is only going to benefit Halliday’s resurgence. Jack has been used regularly in the holding midfield role, but Halliday has been his replacement when Jack is not available.
Though Gerrard and Rangers will see the injury as a blow, Halliday will surely benefit.
