Glasgow Rangers may still have some business to carry out before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has been speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s clash with Dunfermline later this week, with his comments published on the Gers’ official Twitter account.
Jack arrived at Ibrox from Aberdeen earlier this summer and, according to the Scottish Sun, Pedro Caixinha’s side are hoping to use the money they got from Martyn Waghorn’s sale to return to Pittodrie for another of their players in the form of Kenny McLean.
Unsurprisingly, Jack was asked about a possible reunion with the 25-year-old and he refused to be drawn on the speculation.
“Kenny McLean is an Aberdeen player,” Rangers’ summer signing said. “I’ve spoken to him and he’s loving it there at the moment. That is one for the manager to speak about.”
Rangers have been busy this summer, strengthening in a number of key areas, but one senses there is still work to be done and the £1million generated from Waghorn’s sale will come in very handy between now and the end of August.
McLean has played 116 times for Aberdeen to date, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists in the process. He previously turned out for Arbroath and St. Mirren and it will b e interesting to see whose club colours he is wearing in early September.
Rangers started the new campaign with a 2-1 victory against Motherwell and they will be hoping to continue their good form in the League Cup on Wednesday evening.
