Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has indicated that Jurgen Klopp keeps his promises better than people at Bayern Munich.

Jurgen Klopp has been praised by midfielder Ryan Gravenberch for keeping his promises at Liverpool.

The Reds simply had to revamp their midfield over the summer and Klopp will be delighted with the results.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai arrived in significant deals before Wataru Endo joined from Stuttgart.

Liverpool still had time for one last move though, signing Gravenberch from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day.

Liverpool forked out around £34million for Gravenberch, with Bayern taking a profit after signing him from Ajax in 2022.

The expectation was that Gravenberch would become a star in Bavaria, but he was barely given a chance.

Both Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel would highlight Gravenberch’s potential but wouldn’t back it up with playing time.

That resulted in Gravenberch wanting to join Liverpool and he has now offered praise to Klopp.

Speaking to Viaplay in the Netherlands, Gravenberch was asked whether Klopp keeps his promises better than those he worked under at Bayern.

Gravenberch offered just two words – ‘actually yes’ – whilst laughing, seemingly enjoying his time at Anfield.

Liverpool starting to see Gravenberch quality

We would expect to see Gravenberch start for Liverpool today as they take on Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

The Dutchman featured against Nottingham Forest last week and is really starting to show his quality.

Gravenberch particularly impressed against Toulouse in the Europa League, showing the ability to go from box-to-box with athleticism and dribbling ability.

We have even seen Owen Hargreaves compare Gravenberch to Paul Pogba in terms of his style of play.

Gravenberch provides something different to the Liverpool midfield ranks and he seems to complement Mac Allister and Szoboszlai well.

If Gravenberch can keep developing – and Klopp can keep his promises about his playing time – we may see him shine at Anfield for years to come.
