Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has praised Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber.

Ryan Gravenberch played with Jurrien Timber at Ajax, and the Liverpool and Netherlands international midfielder has said that he would love for the Reds to sign the Arsenal defender.

Timber, also a Netherlands international, joined Arsenal from Ajax in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners paid an initial £34 million in transfer fees for Timber (Sky Sports).

Gravenberch moved to Liverpool from Bayern in the summer of 2022.

During a fan Q&A on Reddit on behalf of Sky Sports, Gravenberch was asked: “If you and the Dutch gang could recruit another compatriot to Liverpool, who would you want it to be and why?”

The 21-year-old responded: “I would maybe go for a good friend of mine, Jurrien Timber.

“I played my whole life with him. He’s like a brother to me. That’s why I chose him.”

Ryan Gravenberch and Jurrien Timber are rivals now

Liverpool and Arsenal are Premier League title rivals now.

While Ryan Gravenberch and Jurrien Timber are good friends, on the pitch, they will be direct rivals at the club level from now on.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have started the season well, and both the Reds and the Gunners are aiming to win the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City are the clear favourites for the title, but we believe that Liverpool and Arsenal will push Pep Guardiola’s side hard.

And, Gravenberch and Timber will play their roles.

Liverpool are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 16 points from six matches, two points behind leaders City, while Arsenal are fifth on 14 points from six games.
