Ryan Giggs, a one-club man throughout his career at Manchester United, had the chance to play with many top players. Now, it has been revealed who he considers his worst teammate.

After coming through the academy system at Old Trafford, Ryan Giggs spent his entire playing career with Manchester United.

He made his senior debut for United at 17 and was quickly compared to George Best because of how effortlessly he could dribble past defenders.

Giggs went on to become one of the most accomplished players in football history. He made 963 appearances for United, scored 168 goals, and provided 270 assists during a remarkable career.

He’s also the most decorated player in English football history, claiming an unmatched 13 Premier League titles among many other honours.

Ryan Giggs gives William Prunier an unwanted title

Giggs played alongside a long list of players during his time at United, starting in 1990 and ending in 2014.

The likes of Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, and Cristiano Ronaldo are often mentioned among the best. But he hasn’t often commented on the players who struggled to make an impact.

During a Q&A session at Hotel Football on Friday night, Giggs spoke about various moments from his career.

According to the Daily Mail, Giggs named William Prunier as the worst player he’d seen at United. Prunier’s time at Old Trafford was brief. He played only two games for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side, making his debut against Queens Park Rangers. His second match didn’t go well—a 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur—and he never featured for the club again.

Since then, Prunier has been considered one of the most disappointing signings of Ferguson’s time in charge.

Ryan Giggs recalls boot incident between Sir Alex Ferguson and David Beckham

Giggs also looked back on the time he witnessed Sir Alex Ferguson’s famous clash with David Beckham in the dressing room.

The incident happened after United’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup fifth round in 2003.

Ferguson was furious with Beckham for not tracking his man during the game, and Giggs noted that he expected to be singled out as well, given his own performance that day.

Speaking at the event, Giggs said: “David wasn’t bothered until he saw the blood. “I got away with murder that day – I’d missed an open goal!”
