Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be trying to snap up the Sporting Lisbon man.

The Portuguese club are in crisis, and it seems that Gauld could be part of a mass exodus from Sporting this summer.
Rangers are now said to be interested in capitalising, and bringing the Scottish youngster back to his homeland would be an exciting move from Steven Gerrard’s side.

Gauld proved as a teenager that he could be a major threat in Scotland, when he was playing for Dundee United.
The attacking midfielder is now 22, with even more experience of first-team football behind him, and if Rangers brought him in they would be getting a much improved player.
Gauld would immediately become one of the biggest threats in Scotland, with his passing ability and dribbling skill refined from spending time on the continent.

And with Gauld linking the play between the midfield and attack, Rangers would start to look a very dangerous outfit.
Rangers are expected to bring in a new front man in the summer, and the thought of him working with Gauld should excite the Ibrox crowd ahead of the new season.
