Football League expert David Prutton has compared Fulham defender Ryan Fredericks to Kyle Walker on Sky Sports’ official website, and Tottenham Hotspur should take note of the comments.

Fredericks has been in wonderful form for Fulham this season, and has been one of the stand out defenders in the Championship.

The full-back has proved a weapon both offensively and defensively, and he could be set to move on in the summer.

Fredericks should now be under consideration by Tottenham, as they may well need a new right-back.

Ryan Fredericks of Fulham runs with the ball during the Sky Bet Championship match between Fulham and Sheffield United at Craven Cottage on March 6, 2018 in London, England.

Walker left Spurs to join Manchester City last summer, and despite their best attempts they have not effectively replaced him.

Serge Aurier has struggled since signing from PSG, and Fredericks could be the perfect fit to offer cover to Kieran Trippier, as shown by Prutton’s comments.

“Ryan Fredericks has brought the energy with a Kyle Walker approach to playing full-back in the Sky Bet Championship,” Prutton said when making his Team of the Season.

Fulhams's Ryan Fredericks battles with Hull City's Jarrod Bowen during the Sky Bet Championship match between Hull City and Fulham at KCOM Stadium on December 30, 2017 in Hull, England.

Of course, there is a demand for high profile additions at Tottenham. But Dele Alli has shown that there is talent in the lower leagues which is capable of making an impact on Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team.

Spurs should know all about Fredericks’ talents too, as he is a product of their youth academy, who they let go in 2015.

And Spurs should not overlook a player as talented as Fredericks, as he could prove to be a solid option for them next season.
