Ryan Edmondson has told Leeds’ Twitter account that it was a no-brainer to join Leeds earlier in the season, and insisted that he is delighted with his decision to make the switch to Elland Road.

Edmondson is undoubtedly one of the signings that Victor Orta is allowed to give himself a pat on the back for. The 16-year-old was signed from York City earlier in the campaign and has been scoring at an incredible rate for the under-18s lately.

The deal to sign him appears to be a major coup, and he explained that his love of the Whites growing up was a key reason why he decided to make the move to Leeds when given the chance.

“I’ve been a big Leeds fan ever since I was a kid so it was a no-brainer really,” he told the club’s official Twitter account.

“Even though there were clubs who were offering me the same thing that Leeds were, it was just a no-brainer. The facilities we’ve got round here are perfect, the coaching staff, the advice you get from players, the opportunity to step up, it’s all there so, yeah, no-brainer completely.”

Based on the form that Edmondson is showing for the under-18s right now, Leeds fans should be delighted that he decided to join them from York City as he currently looks destined for first-team football at Elland Road in the future.

The 16-year-old is not only Leeds’ most lethal goalscorer at the moment across all of the squads, but he is also establishing himself as a real leader amongst the team, having worn the captain’s armband on a number of occasions.

There are a number of exciting prospects currently giving Paul Heckingbottom something to think about as Leeds’ first-team head into the final part of the season with little to play for, and Edmondson surely has to be amongst the names such as Jack Clarke and Sam Dalby pushing for a potential chance, despite his age.
