Ryan Christie shares what Neil Lennon told Celtic’s players before St. Mirren clash

Celtic are currently 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Ryan Christie has told the Daily Record that Celtic boss Neil Lennon is urging his team not to become complacent.

Celtic’s recent victory over Rangers has pushed them 13 points clear at the top of the league, and they appear to be well on their way to lifting another trophy now.

Celtic’s advantage is so vast that it would be easy for the Bhoys to take their foot off the gas.

However, Lennon is determined to ensure that his team charge over the line.

And Christie has revealed that Lennon was telling his side not to relent before their match with St. Mirren in midweek.

“Is the hardest part getting over the line? The gaffer mentioned that before the St Mirren game,” the midfielder said.

“It’s a cliche but it’s the business end of the season and right now you have to take it one game at a time and make sure you’re picking up the three points.”

Lennon’s team-talk certainly seemed to work as Celtic strolled to success at St. Mirren on Wednesday.

Timothy Weah set Celtic on their way to victory early on, before Christie sealed the three points in the second-half.

Celtic are next in action this weekend, when they take on Livingston.
