Ryan Christie is back at Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic from his loan spell at Aberdeen.

Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie has revealed to The Scottish Sun what manager Brendan Rodgers has told him regarding his immediate future.

Christie is returning to Celtic after a loan spell at Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen.

Much was expected of the 23-year-old when he joined the Glasgow giants from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Scotsman to be worth £600,000, but the midfielder has struggled to make an impact at Celtic Park.

Christie, though, has suggested that he will be another chance at Celtic by manager Rodgers next season.

“I haven’t spoken to Brendan Rodgers since the end of the season,” Christie told The Scottish Sun.

“He told me to enjoy this trip, come back for pre-season and we’d take things from there. But I’ll really need to hit the ground running, I know that.”

Future at Celtic?

Christie has done well during his loan spell at Aberdeen, and having helped them finish second in the Scottish Premiership this past season, his confidence will be high.

It is going to be hard for the 23-year-old midfielder to establish himself in the Celtic starting lineup next season, but he has the talent and the quality to do just that.

The 23-year-old midfielder scored four goals and provided 10 assists in 28 Scottish Premiership appearances for Aberdeen this past season, according to Transfermarkt.com.
