The 22-year-old midfielder initially moved to the Dons on loan in January 2017 and re-joined Derek McInnes’s side in the summer transfer window.
The Scotland international is playing well at the moment and has established himself as an important player for Aberdeen.
Christie is confident that he has a long-term future at Celtic and is taking inspiration from Callum McGregor.
McGregor, 24, is playing well at the moment and has established himself as an important player in Brendan Rodgers’s midfield.
“Callum is a good example,” Christie told The Scottish Sun. “Playing alongside him during the Scotland gathering, you can see that he is an exceptional player. He is so gifted on the ball and you look at the way he has come through at Celtic.
“He had to go away to England to get games and progress. It shows that when you do go out on loan it doesn’t mean that you are on the road out of that club.
“You can see how Callum has kicked on. He looks like one of the top 10 players at Celtic right now and that’s great for him. It’s also good for me to look at him, look at his road and try to replicate it.”
Competition for places in the Celtic team, especially in midfield, is fierce, and it would be hard for Christie to break in.
However, if the youngster does well during his loan spell at Aberdeen and then impresses Celtic manager Rodgers in pre-season next summer, then he could well make an impact at Celtic Park.
