Liverpool seem to be on a little madness, as they could possibly further enhance their already lethal forward line.

As if Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota wasn’t enough because a certain flying Bayern Munich star in Serge Gnabry could be added to their ranks.

English outlet, Goal, have claimed that Liverpool are keeping a ‘close eye’ on the German forward, who once got a wry smile from Dutch icon, Ruud Gullit, when he kicked Neymar in the 2020 Champions League final.

Bayern saw off then-Thomas Tuchel’s PSG outfit, with Gullit making it clear that he ‘loved’ Gnabry’s actions when things became heated between both teams in the second half, as he told beIN SPORTS.

“For me, the key moment in the game was [Serge] Gnabry giving Neymar a little kick. That was the key moment,” said Gullit in 2020.

“That was the moment where they went “hey, now we go for it!” and I loved it when he did it because that is what you need.

“You need a little aggression and a little bit of intimidation and he showed that with that action. All of a sudden, something happened in that team. They scored the goal.”

Players do what it takes in the biggest of games and Gnabry, who seemingly wants £250k-a-week at Bayern, sure made himself known against Neymar when it mattered most.

Come Sunday, Liverpool will be involved in a heated, yet mouthwatering tie where that level of aggression is going to be needed.

Both Manchester City and Liverpool might be easy on the eye when they have the ball at their feet.

But, with their trophy-laden coaches on the sidelines, there is a tough nature to these two sides, which might just showcase itself at the Etihad.

Both teams are well aware that defeat might just end their hopes of lifting the Premier League title and adding multiple trophies to their cabinet this season.

However, after years and years of battling one another, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this is the defining time in the rivalry between Liverpool and Man City.
