Gullit hopes the Tottenham Hotspur-linked star doesn’t go the same way as the Everton flop.

Ruud Gullit has revealed that he would hate to see Tottenham Hotspur target Donny van de Beek wind up like Everton flop Davy Klaassen.
According to The Sun, Tottenham want the £45 million-rated Ajax midfielder, who scored against Spurs in a Champions League semi-final last week.
The Premier League has seen a series of high-profile Dutch disappointments in recent years, from Memphis Depay to Klaassen, who joined Everton for £25 million two years ago.
Also signed from Ajax, the 26-year-old managed only seven Premier League outings for the Toffees, before being sold to Werder Bremen last summer.
Van de Beek is hot property, like so many of his team-mates in Amsterdam right now, and Gullit wouldn’t like to see him go the same way as Klaassen in terms of failed promise.
“If Van de Beek goes to a different club, I hope he doesn’t do the same as Davy Klaassen,” he said on Ziggo Sport. “Klaassen went to Everton, a team that do not play like Ajax and so he did not provide the same return.”
Being fair, Van de Beek seems a level above Klaassen, who wasn’t dominated Champions League semi-finals when he was 22, like the Ajax gem is now.
Van de Beek is very much the real deal and if Spurs spent big money on him, they won’t regret it.
