Does Leeds target Ze Luis really want to leave Russia?

Leeds United have made a blockbuster bid for Cape Verde striker Ze Luis, according to foreign website Championat.

Ze Luis plays for Russian side Spartak Moscow, where he has scored 11 goals this season.

A move is complicated by Ze Luis’ hefty release clause – and his desire to stay in Russia.

Championat reported last February that Newcastle United tried to sign Ze Luis.

One of the reasons the Toon were unsuccessful was because Ze Luis was claimed to be in love with a Russian dancer and he was reluctant to leave the country.

As Ze Luis’ partner’s Instagram page shows with this latest picture from January 11 this year, the loved up couple are still together.

Leeds’ move for Ze Luis already looked ambitious due to the large fee reportedly involved, and Spartak want closer to £17 million to meet his release clause.

Considering he showed disinterest in a move to the Premier League last summer due to his desire to stay in Russia for personal reasons, Leeds face a serious uphill task to convince him to quit to join them in the Championship.
