Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Russell Martin to Ibrox on loan from Norwich City.

Rangers have signed Martin from Norwich in the Championship in England in the January transfer window.
The 32-year-old defender will remain at the Gers until the end of the season and will be looking to establish himself in Graeme Murty’s first team.
The Scotland international has revealed that he spoke to former Rangers star Steven Naismith before his move to the Gers, as well to 30-year-old midfielder Graham Dorrans, who joined the Glasgow giants from Norwich in the summer of 2017.

Naismith was on the books of Rangers from 2007 until 2012 and was hugely successful during his spell at Ibrox.
The 31-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, won the league title thrice, the Scottish Cup once and the Scottish League Cup twice during his time with Rangers.
Interestingly, Naismith has been linked with a move to Rangers in the January transfer window, with Sky Sports claiming that the Gers are interested in him.

Martin told Rangers’ official website: “I’ve said before Ibrox is one of the best atmospheres I have played in when we played here against Georgia for Scotland. It was fantastic and a really good experience, I am really looking forward to it.
“I was speaking to Graham Dorrans, I obviously played with him at Norwich, and he has told me how big it is. He has supported Rangers all his life and people like Steven Naismith have told me how big it is.”
