Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have snapped up Russell Martin from Norwich City.

Martin joined Rangers yesterday, after agreeing to a move from Norwich City.
The Scottish defender is expected to have an important role to play straight away at Rangers, and could come straight into Murty’s first-team.

And Martin says that he wants to use his knowhow to help guide some of Rangers’ younger players through matches.
“I pride myself on professionalism, it has got me as far as it has in my career so if that is one of the reasons the manager wants me here, and we spoke about it this morning,” Martin said.
“I look forward to taking that role on, we have some really good young players here and lads who have been playing recently and doing really well so if I can help them in any way possible to be better for this football club in the future then it is a job well done.”

Rangers have a very young squad at the moment, with the Light Blues blessed with a lot of developing talents.
Martin, however, is at the other end of his career – and his experience could be key.
Martin has represented the likes of Wycombe Wanderers, Peterborough United and Norwich during his career in England, and also has considerable experience on the international stage.
