Is talented youngster closer to signing a new deal.
Aston Villa teenager Rushian Hepburn-Murphy is one of the club’s most promising young talents and is a scorer for the under-23s.
Yet his expiring contract has prevented him from stepping up to the first team, with manager Steve Bruce telling the Birmingham Mail that if the teenager wants to earn a call up, he must sign a new contract.
Aston Villa’s Rushian Hepburn Murphy in action
Hepburn-Murphy, 18, is yet to sign a new deal despite this, although he managed to get fans’ hopes up last night by suggesting he will be playing soon.
He sent a message out on Twitter stating he is keen to be back in action.
Hepburn-Murphy’s comment was open ended did not exactly offer any clarity on his situation, and could simply have been in reference to a possible injury he picked up a week ago.
Despite this possibility, Hepburn-Murphy’s message simply re-ignited the debate over his future, and had fans hoping a deal has been agreed.
If this is the case then it is another piece of good news for the club as they seek to wrap up a number of mid-season signings, although we would suggest not getting carried away just yet.
Here is a look at how Villa fans reacted to Hepburn-Murphy’s tweet…
