Rangers star is fighting for his future ahead of Celtic clash.

Rangers Keeper Jak Alnwick makes a fine save from Louis Moult of Motherwell during the Betfred Cup Semi Final at Hampden Park on October 22, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Jak Alnwick is heading into the biggest game of his career for Rangers this weekend against Celtic.

And he does so with major questions suddenly emerging over his future, and not in the right way.

Alnwick should be coming into this game believing he can lay down a claim to be number one.

Instead he enters the game wondering if he will be at Rangers next season at all, and if not, where his future may lie.

Jak Alnwick of Rangers saves from Conor Sammon of Partick Thistle during the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

This is due to Rangers being set to sign Allan McGregor, and Wes Foderingham insisting he will be staying put too, The Scottish Sun report.

Alnwick is facing dropping down to become third choice – ahead of this weekend’s huge fixture.

It is all an unhelpful distraction to Alnwick and Rangers themselves when so much is at stake this weekend.

Cedric Kipre of Motherwell has his shot saved well by Jak Alnwick of Rangers during the Betfred Cup Semi Final at Hampden Park on October 22, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers are hoping to stop Celtic’s title party and prevent Brendan Rodger’s side winning the league against them.

They need everybody to be at the top of their games, especially Alnwick.

The goalkeeper’s game could be lifted by the rumours, knowing he needs a special display to impress scouts ahead of a move away, but the uncertainty could also be a negative for the Light Blues.

Suddenly he is playing for his future, away from Rangers and not for them.
