Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino may become a wanted man very soon.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is highly rated, and that will no doubt put him on the radar of a host of major clubs around Europe.

Spurs managed to convince the Argentine to stay over the summer, as he signed a new contract to stay with the club despite suggestions that he may head elsewhere.

However, Spurs then failed to back Pochettino with new signings over the summer, leading many to worry that he may be on the move if a good enough offer arrives.

Now, the managerial posts with two clubs regular linked with Pochettino may just become available, with managers at Manchester United and Real Madrid both under pressure.

United have been disappointing this season, and as they make their way through the infamous third season under Jose Mourinho, The Mirror report that the Portuguese boss is close to the sack.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid only appointed Julen Lopetegui as their new manager over the summer, but poor results mean he is already under pressure, with the Daily Mail claiming he is on the brink of being axed too.

If either manager is sacked, Pochettino is likely to be near the top of the wish list for either club, and that means Spurs chairman Daniel Levy must act quickly to protect the club from losing their best manager in some time.

Pochettino simply must be backed with funds in the January transfer window after a signing-less summer, as Spurs need to show that they not only have full confidence in Pochettino moving forward, but also that he will have the financial backing to achieve everything he wants without having to leave for United or Real.

Levy has never been the biggest spender, but with Mourinho and Lopetegui rumoured to be on the chopping block, it’s imperative that Pochettino is given the funds to improve Spurs even further, rather than feeling he has to go to further his career.
