Tosin Adarabioyo has barely been given a chance at Manchester City and new developments could be good news for Celtic.

Manchester City's Oluwatosin Adarabioyo

After Kingsley Coman and Moussa Dembele escaped Paris Saint Germain to develop into some of Europe’s most exciting young attackers, it appears that the Ligue 1 champions are set to lose another of their brightest talents.

According to the Manchester Evening News, 17-year-old centre-half Dan-Axel Zagadou is set to sign a deal with Manchester City after rejecting a five-year contract at PSG.

The centre-half is reportedly intent on joining Pep Guardiola’s side and understandably so. The Catalan is renowned for his ability to turn potential into world-class talent, after all.

However, this does not exactly bode well for a talented, teenage defender already at City’s disposal. Tosin Adarabioyo was expected to progress under Guardiola this season but, despite Vincent Kompany’s injury troubles and the difficulties suffered by John Stones, Nicholas Otamendi and Aleksandar Kolarov, the Nigerian has not featured in a single Premier League game in 2016/17.

As such, the Manchester Evening News report that Adarabioyo is unhappy with his lack of opportunities. His contract is running out at the end of the season and appears unlikely to commit his future to the club.

And The Telegraph report that Celtic could take full advantage. Manager Brendan Rodgers has made clear that the club will target talented, affordable young players with the idea of developing them and selling them on for a profit and Adarabioyo certainly fits the mould.

Furthermore, with Kolo Toure’s career winding down and Erik Sviatchenko (below) hinting that he could be open to a summer exit, there may be a gap open in Celtic’s squad for a new defender.

And Adarabioyo could be that man. After all, the sight of City bringing in another young centre-back is unlikely to make him feel wanted.
