Rumoured Leeds United target Abel Hernandez has been offered a three-year deal by CSKA Moscow, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Italian newspaper reports that concrete negotiations have begun between the two parties, with Hernandez standing to earn around €3 million (£2.7 million) per season in Russia if he accepts.
And it adds that fresh interest in the Uruguayan is manifesting in the background from Tianjin Quanjian.
Hernandez is a free agent after leaving Hull City at the end of last month and has been strongly tipped to remain in England with Leeds, who according to the Yorkshire Evening Post had made the 27-year-old a lucrative offer and were prepared to meet his previous wages of around £40,000 per week as of early June.
However, the trail appears to have gone cold in recent weeks, with Leeds looking increasingly likely to sign Matej Vydra instead.
The Daily Telegraph reported on Sunday that the Derby County forward is edging closer to an £11 million move to Elland Road, and that could bring an end to the Whites’ Hernandez pursuit once and for all.
Hernandez’s agent, Oscar Bentancourt, told Championat in May that his client had already rejected an approach from CKSA, who finished second in Russia’s Premier League last season.
