Sheytanov is widely believed to be signing for Leeds United.

Dimitar Sheytanov did play for Leeds United’s Under-23s at Ossett United on Saturday.

The Bulgarian goalkeeper, who is widely believed to be singing for Leeds after leaving Levski Sofia last week, tweeted a photo of himself dressed in Whites gear at the Northern Premier League side’s Ingfield Stadium.

There was, however, some confusion as Sheytanov’s name was omitted from Leeds’ official match report, where he appeared to have been listed as ‘Georgia’ instead.

But a subsequent post, which shows the 19-year-old pulling off a flying one-handed save from an Ossett United player, clarifies any lingering uncertainty.

Leeds defender Liam Kitching wrote, in response to Sheytanov’s tweet:

Whether or not Sheytanov has officially moved to Leeds remains to be seen, however, with the former Under-17 international continuing to describe himself as a Levski player in his Twitter bio.

It is certainly not uncommon for clubs to take in development squad players without ever announcing their arrivals.

Alex Wollerton’s scored the only goal as Carlos Corberan’s side claimed a 1-0 win against Andy Welsh’s team.
