Tottenham fans on Twitter were wowed by John McGinn’s performance following Aston Villa’s 2-1 win in North London on Wednesday.
It was a masterclass from McGinn in the middle of the park yesterday as the Tottenham players struggled to deal with his aggression, pressing and drive with and without the ball.
McGinn has a beautiful knack of adding this academy-trained intelligence added with street-like quality to his game, and that was proven as Villa came from behind to beat Spurs yesterday.
At one point during the game, McGinn produced an outrageous skill that left the Spurs players around him chasing thin air.
And if some feel it was a fluke, well the Villa midfielder has pulled off such a move before against Fulham at the start of the campaign.
Either way, Spurs supporters were seriously impressed by what they were seeing from the £2.5 million midfielder. (Scotsman).
The 10,000 Tottenham fans in attendance, and those watching from home, would have no doubt wished their players showed the aggression McGinn was showing throughout the 90 minutes.
He’s like a never-ending supply of energy, whose playing style is infectious and one that will be on show at the European Championships this summer.
After McGinn and Co. dented Tottenham’s European chances, they will be looking to do the same to Chelsea this Sunday on the final day of the campaign.
