Pep Guardiola’s brother and agent Pere Guardiola will reportedly now work under the Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) agency, the same party that represent Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag.

According to the Athletic, the Manchester City manager will make the move to the Netherlands-based agency this week. SEG have a number of high-profile names on their books, such as former Premier League striker Robin van Persie and the aforementioned Ten Hag.

Whilst the news might not seem to major on the surface, it has arisen speculation that Ten Hag could be a potential candidate to replace Guardiola to City one day in the future.

The Ajax coach is one of the most in-demand managers in football, with Manchester United reportedly keeping tabs on the 51-year-old. However, this revelation could put Ten Hag closer to City, with Guardiola teasing he could leave in 2023.

Speaking to Sky Sports News in August, Guardiola suggested that there is a chance that he will leave City at the end of his current contract, which is due to expire in 18 months.

The former Bayern Munich coach said: “After seven years on this team, I think I’m going to have a stop. I’m going to have to take a break, see what we’ve done.”

Indeed, replacing Guardiola will be an almost impossible task for City. The Catalan coach has brought unrivalled success to the Manchester giants, and there are few candidates who could match what the former Barcelona manager has accomplished.

However, this move from Guardiola to move to the same agency as Ten Hag has got City fans on social media dreaming that the AJax coach could be the man to take over the Manchester giants in 2023.

Here’s what some City fans had to say on Twitter about Guardiola and Ten Hag being represented by the same agency…
