Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his website that Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Rui Patricio will become an AS Roma player by Sunday.
What’s the story?
Well-known and well-respected journalist Di Marzio is reporting that Patricio is very close to joining Roma from Wolves.
There is an agreement in place between the Wolves goalkeeper’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and Italian club Roma.
The Serie A outfit will pay Wolves €11 million (£9.45 million) in transfer fees for the 33-year-old.
Patricio will return a week earlier from his holiday and will join Jose Mourinho’s side.
The transfer fee being reported means that Wolves will actually take a loss on the Portugal international goalkeeper.
Patricio cost Wolves €18 million (£15.46 million) when they signed him in 2018, according to Goal.

Who will replace Rui Patricio?
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Jose Sa will replace Patricio at Wolves.
The 28-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper will join from Olympiacos.
Sa is a very good and experienced goalkeeper, and he would not be a bad replacement for Patricio at all.
The Portuguese won the domestic league with FC Porto in 2018, and the Super League Greece with Olympiacos in 2020 and 2021.
