Ruben Neves has claimed that the passing rating of Tottenham Hotspur target Max Kilman on FIFA 23 is a ‘joke’, as he told Wolves’ official YouTube account.

With Conor Coady out of the door, Kilman, who enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season, is now a key member of Bruno Lage’s backline.

Those minutes and performances last season has seen the sought-after Englishman, who is being targeted by Spurs, see an upgrade on his FIFA card.

The 25-year-old was rated ’70’ for FIFA 22, and ahead of the September 27th release date for FIFA 23, he has now been handed a 77-rated card.

But perhaps one area where Kilman will feel unjustified in is his passing, with FIFA handing him a below-average 63-rating.

Wolves midfielder Neves mocked the passing of, not just Kilman, but his new centre-back partner Nathan Collins, who was rated 54 for his passing.

“What do you think is your overall,” Neves asked Kilman to which he responded, “I was a 70 last year, so maybe 75.”

Neves responded: “Higher. You played a lot of games last season. It’s 77.” Kilman added: “Okay, well it’s an improvement.”

Kilman then expressed his ‘worry’ at what pace rating he has been given to which Neves told him, “you have more than me, that’s not fair. I am quicker than you.

“We have two Premier League centre-backs with 63 and 54 passing, that’s a joke.”

KILMAN MAKING STRIDES

One of the most improved players of the last 12 months and now a key member of Wolves’ backline, it’s understandable why Kilman is attracting interest.

With there being a hot debate about England’s backline, and especially their centre-backs, it could have been argued that Kilman deserved a call into Gareth Southgate’s latest squad.

Not only does Kilman have the ability to play in a back three, but as he is proving this season, he can also do the job in a flat back four also.

That’s an option that would suit Southgate down to a tee, but he is too busy making the seat warm for Harry Maguire.
