Ruben Loftus-Cheek played well for Crystal Palace last season, and there is no surprise to see that West Ham United and Everton have been linked with the Chelsea midfielder.

The Sun (print edition, page 52, May 29, 2018) claimed of interest from West Ham United and Everton in Loftus-Cheek, who spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Palace from Chelsea (click here to read more).

West Ham have been quite active over the past few weeks, and having signed former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and Felipe Anderson among other players, the Hammers may not be looking to recruit the 22-year-old anymore this summer.

Everton, though, are still interested, as reported by The Mirror last month, while The London Evening Standard has claimed that Palace want to sign the England international midfielder on loan for the 2018-19 campaign.

Loftus-Cheek – who earns £35,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has suggested that he could leave Chelsea this summer, which Palace and Everton will find quite encouraging.

The Liverpool Echo quotes Loftus-Cheek as saying about his future: “That’s the key for me right now [getting minutes] at this stage of my career.

“I’ve had a taste of what Premier League football is like and I don’t want to miss out on that next season.

“So I’ll have a little break, not too much or I’ll miss the start of the season, clear my mind and we go from there.”

Future uncertain

It is clear that Loftus-Cheek wants regular playing time next season, and despite a managerial change at Chelsea, it is hard to see the England international midfielder get that at Stamford Bridge next season.

The youngster would be a good signing for Everton and Palace, and the Toffees and the Eagles should start working on signing the 22-year-old.
