Ryan Mason celebrates scoring the first goal for Tottenham
One of the biggest transfer stories to come out of Tuesday evening was that Hull City are in talks with Tottenham over signing Ryan Mason according to Sky Sports News.
Well, it does depend on your definition of ‘big transfer story’. The 25-year-old’s future at White Hart Lane was in doubt ever since the arrival of Victor Wanyama from Southampton, but it appears he’s found a new home on Humberside.
The academy graduate had to wait for his chance to break into the Spurs team two years ago, with the then-23-year-old making his league debut against Arsenal and showing great promise in the heart of Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield.

But the partnership of Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele proved too great for Mason to force his way back into Pochettino’s plans and Wanyama further pushed the former England international out of the White Hart Lane exit door.
Mason would be The Tigers’ first arrival in a tumultuous summer which has seen off-the-field issues dampen their Premier League campaign, despite taking two wins from two including victory over the reigning champions Leicester City on the opening day.
And reacting on Twitter, Tottenham fans seemed pretty ecstatic at his departure despite his 70 Spurs appearances, showing that there’s no love lost when it comes to the cut-throat world of football.
