Roy Keane has said that there’s ‘no chance’ of Tottenham Hotspur finishing in the top four this season.
Jose Mourinho’s side thumped Burnley 4-0 in North London this afternoon to move up one place to eighth in the Premier League table.
The victory puts Spurs six points behind fourth-placed West Ham United but, with a game in hand, the gap is only potentially three points.
In spite of this, Keane isn’t convinced that Tottenham are good enough to qualify for the Champions League and speaking on Sky Sports after the win today, he said: “Spurs? Champions League? It was easy for them today. Burnley were desperate – I can’t believe how bad they were. We [fellow pundits] could’ve played in that game today. I can’t see them getting top four – no chance.”
It’s hard to write off Tottenham.
Yes it was a simple win against a team they were expecting to beat this afternoon, but Gareth Bale scored twice and he looks to be back on song.
And if a player like Bale is in top form then it’s so difficult to write off the Lilywhites’ chances of having a spectacular last few months of the season.
