Roy Keane has claimed that Bukayo Saka is a ‘special’ player after Arsenal beat 3-2 Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

The legendary midfielder told Sky Sports Premier League that Arsenal’s second goal, which came via the boot of Saka’s, was ‘beautiful’ and ‘aggressive’ play from the Englishman.

Saka did very well to tackle the ball off Tom Cleverley on the edge of Watford’s box, before playing a one-two with Alexandre Lacazette and then dispatching the ball into the back of the net like a seasoned pro.

At the age of 20, Saka is one of the best talents in world football and a key reason as to why Arsenal are heading back in the right direction.

The Hale-End academy star was lauded by Keane today, as the Manchester United legend is a huge fan of the youngster, as Arsenal fans will love his comments.

“No, no (foul from Saka on Cleverley),” said Keane. “It’s just good aggressive play. You are talking about good attacking players. The aggression to go and win the ball back.

“Lovely one-two (between) Saka and (Lacazette). This kid, he’s a special talent because as soon as Tom Cleverley is caught, you are still thinking ‘it’s not the end of the world’.

“But quick movement, one-two, Lacazette does well to lay it off where he knows Saka can hit it first time. I don’t think it’s a foul – beautiful goal. Oustanding finish. He is a special player this lad.”

Emile Smith Rowe was absent for the Watford win because of COVID, but he is another superstar lighting up the Arsenal stage.

Years and years after stagnating, Mikel Arteta finally has a squad of players that are showing signs that they can take the north London club back to the top.

It probably feels more special for the fans that it’s some of their academy players, such as Saka, that are guiding them back.

There is still a long way to go for the youngest squad in the Premier League, but one thing is for sure, Arteta deserves more respect for the job he is doing.
