Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic lost against Bayern Munich at Celtic Park in the Champions League this week.

Celtic suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bayern at Celtic Park in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The Glasgow giants gave the Bundesliga powerhouse a run for their money and could have at least picked up a point from the encounter.

Bayern had a number of their best players missing against Celtic, with Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery all on the sidelines for the Champions League game.
Former United and Celtic midfielder Keane believes that Brendan Rodgers’s side should have capitalised on Bayern’s injury problems and should have won.
“Yeah, I think it was a great opportunity for Celtic to get a result against obviously one of the big teams in Europe,” said Keane on the UEFA Champions League Highlights show on ITV on Wednesday night (broadcast from 11:15pm, November 1, 2017).
“They were missing so many of their star players, and the couple of goals Celtic gave away, they will be kicking themselves.”

Despite missing a number of their key players, Bayern still had better players, and winning at Celtic Park was always going to be tough for the Hoops.
It is encouraging, though, that Hoops could at least make it hard for the German giants.
